Company Profile
we specialise in commercial bat and bird surveys
Nocturne Environmental Surveyors Limited was set-up in 2001. We specialise in Commercial Bat Surveys for a variety of clients from the construction industry to local Councils and other Environmental Surveyors.
Our experience covers all types of survey projects from buildings to trees as well as the demolition and felling of both. We can advise on licensed bat exclusions for domestic properties. We can also advise on applications for licences from the Scottish Government for roost disturbance during building development or demolition.
Some of our clients have required surveys of birds in addition to bats. One of our surveyors is an ecologist with many years experience of voluntary bird survey work, and is an active licensed bird ringer. This experience has developed into carrying out bird surveys for small wind farm developments. This usually involves undertaking a Phase One Habitat Survey and winter walkover bird surveys together with a scaled down common bird census during the breeding season, a desktop study of target species and local designated sites, and liaison with local conservation organisations and statutory bodies as required. If you are interested in this aspect of work please contact us.
Our training has included Bat Worker Training at Kindrogan Field Centre and Bat Survey for Consultants at Bristol University, whilst assisting the training of volunteers within the Clyde Bat Group.
We have over 10 years experience of dealing with bats and their habitats and currently have Roost Visitor Licence and Hibernation Visitor Licenses. We also have current Rabies Inoculation.
The company has public indemnity and liability insurance for its activities.
